Roadmap

API owners are asking developers to invest in building applications on their platform. This is asking for a lot of trust, and the best way an API owner can build this trust with its developers is with a transparent roadmap.
API roadmaps are usually a simple, bulleted list, derived from the APIs own internal roadmap, showing what the future holds for the platform. Transparency around an APIs roadmap is a tough balance, since you don’t want to give away too much, alerting your competitors, but your developer ecosystem needs to know what’s next.
API owners need to find a balance that works for their company, and maintain an active roadmap outlining where the platform is headed.
