Microsoft Paying Developers $100 to Publish Windows Apps

Excerpt: This week, Microsoft announced that developers who publish apps on the Windows Store and/or Windows Phone Store can claim $100 for each published app (up to a total of 10 on each store, totaling up to $2000 per developer). In a bid to gain more interest from app developers who are increasingly focusing on Android and iPhone apps, this is a tactic that Microsoft hopes will draw up more quality apps (the deal is applicable to the first 10,000 apps submitted) for their stores which are struggling to compete with the larger ‘duopoly’ of Google Play and Apple App Store. The deal will last until June 30th 2013, and to apply, developers must publish their apps on either of the stores, then complete this form.... read the full post.

Excerpt: RIM’s BB10 ambitions are coming along nicely, with developers responding in huge numbers to the blatant cash bribe offered to get their apps up on BlackBerry App World and ready for BB10′s imminent launch. The sudden influx of BB10 apps isn’t entirely due to optimism about a return to form for the struggling BlackBerry maker. RIM has been running a “Port-a-thon” event, where developers are given $100 a time in return for making their tools work properly with BB10.
