If you ship parcels from the US, you have probably done this: open four carrier websites, type the same box dimensions into each, and compare prices by hand before buying a label. SMKlog does that comparison for you, and it also offers it as an API, a way for your own software, or an AI assistant, to ask for the prices directly. Their listing is on APIs.io.
What SMKlog does
SMKlog is an independent US parcel shipping calculator and label seller, run by SMKLOG-2022 LLC in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. You describe an item in plain words and get live USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL Express rates from a US origin to the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, or Australia, then buy the label online. More at smklog.com.
What makes SMKlog interesting is how deliberately it is built for machines as well as people. The same pricing engine behind the website is published as the SMKlog Quote API, and it needs no key to try. There is a remote MCP server, which is the way AI assistants plug into tools, with five tools, plus an agent card so other agents can discover it, and a set of published Agent Skills and an llms.txt file to tell assistants how to use it. There is a clear line drawn, too: agents can price a shipment and prepare checkout, but a human always completes payment on smklog.com. I like that line a lot.
What you can get done
Logistics Operations Management
The business outcome here is simple: know what a parcel will cost to send, across carriers, before you commit. That matters for setting shipping prices at checkout, for choosing a carrier on each order, and for answering a customer who asks what it would cost to send something abroad.
POST /quoteprices one parcel from a US origin across USPS, UPS, and FedEx, plus DHL Express for international destinations.
One call does one job, and it is the job most people actually came for. Around it, SMKlog organizes its surface into three APIs: Quotes for pricing, Checkout for preparing a label purchase, and Operations.
Why this matters if you are not a developer
You do not have to write code to benefit. Because SMKlog works with AI assistants directly, you can ask an assistant connected to it something like what it would cost to ship a pair of boots from New Jersey to Toronto, and the assistant can call the quote for you and lay out the options. When you are ready to buy, you finish the purchase yourself on the website. The assistant does the comparing; you do the paying.
Getting started
Start with the SMKlog API page. If you or someone on your team writes code, there are SDKs for JavaScript on npm, Python on PyPI, and Go. You can see the Quotes API and the Checkout API from the SMKlog profile.
Next time you are about to open four carrier tabs, ask for one quote instead.
